Rearrange a PDF without
handing it to anybody

Reorder, rotate, merge, split, sign, redact and export pages. Every byte stays on your computer — there is no upload, no account, and no server to trust.

Download Collate

Free. No account needed.

Or don't install anything.

Use Collate in your browser

Your documents are never uploaded

Collate opens and rewrites PDFs inside the application itself. Nothing is sent anywhere, which means a contract, a medical record or a signed agreement can be reorganised without it ever leaving the machine it is on. The browser version works the same way, and keeps working with the network switched off.

What it does

Reorder and rotate

Drag pages into the order you want. Turn the ones a scanner fed in sideways.

Merge and split

Add a second PDF, extract a range, or cut one document into many at every chapter.

Sign and fill

Draw or type a signature once and place it anywhere. Type into a line the file left blank.

Redact properly

Black out words and the text is removed from the file — not covered over. On a scan the pixels go too.

Read a scan

Pages with no text are read with OCR, so a scanned document becomes searchable and selectable.

Number and stamp

Page numbers and Bates numbering, applied to a range and renumbered when you reorder.

Clean up a scan

Straighten pages that went through the feeder crooked, and threshold them so OCR reads better.

Make it smaller

Shrink the images so the file fits the attachment limit. The words stay sharp.

Keeps your work

Optional. Your arrangement survives a reload, stored on your own disk and nowhere else.

Updates and verification

The macOS, Windows and AppImage builds check for updates when they start and ask before installing anything. Every update is signed, and a build refuses one whose signature does not match the key compiled into it.

Checksums for each release are published beside the files on the releases page.
